To backup your database, go to File, Backup Current Inventory.

Name your database and click Save. Your database will be saved in plain text format. You can also go to File, Restore from Previous Backup to restore your saved database.

Is this really the answer? Seems this answers the question, "How do I back up my inventory," rather than "How do I back up my database?".

Backing up inventory won't restore associated price schemas, etc., will it? If not, how do we back up our DATABASES?

My database becomes corrupt whenever I have a power failure or my PC crashes, and the Microsoft Access thing doesn't usually work.

  • Hi There!

I would be happy to answer your question.

You are correct in the sense that this only backs up your inventory, but your schemas are saved in another file apart from your database. You Schemas are saved in the 'db' folder along side your database(s) that you have made. So if your database does get corrupt and you are unable to repair it, your schemas will not be affected. The backup is a snapshot of your inventory at this point in time. You can save this .txt file and then using the option below "Backup Current Inventory" you can then fetch the .txt backup file, and your inventory will be reloaded. You can even use this method to start a new database.

Finally you will need to reassign your schemas to your items.

    I hope this helps.
